Being at the game last night was amazing. So amazing that we decided not to blog. Perhaps a bit selfish, but we were also having wireless internet problems courtside. The celebration after Nova’s victory caused me to smile the most I have in a very very long time. Perhaps this description of my emotions may be confusing to some of you. As members of the press, it is not proper to celebrate or show too much emotion while sitting court side. Even so, both Chris Fujimoto and I jumped up when Scottie Reynolds made his drive. The second half of the game was possibly the most suspense, stress and excitement I have ever myself felt. Thus, our emotions and reaction to the victory was nothing compared to the reaction of Nova’s fans in the
student section at the TD BankNorth Garden, or on Villanova’s campus itself, where Lancaster Avenue was shut down by more than one thousand celebrating students (see photo to the right). The Villanova Times will have incredible photos of the team’s on court celebration, net-cutting and award ceremony as well as action shots from the actual game. Later, we will also post more analysis of the game, commentary on the experience itself, and a previews of the Final Four in Detroit.
If you are interested, the entire Villanova team will be live on C
BS at halftime of the UNC – Oklahoma game, which begins in about a half an hour.
